Smt. R. D. Gardi Bhavnagar Stree Kelavani Mandal stands as one of the oldest, most respected, and visionary institutions in Gujarat dedicated to the advancement of girls' education. Established in 1925 by the enlightened leadership of His Highness Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji of Bhavnagar, Shri Balvantrai Mehta (Former Chief Minister of Gujarat), Sir Prabhashankar Dalpatram Pattani KCIE, and several other pioneering social reformers. The Mandal emerged at a time when opportunities for women's education were scarce and often overlooked. Guided by the ideals of social upliftment, equity, and gender justice, the Mandal embarked on a transformative mission to make education accessible, meaningful, and empowering for girls and women across the region.

A historic milestone was achieved in 1988, when the Mandal received a generous and heartfelt contribution from Shri Dipchandbhai Gardi. In honour of this noble gesture, it was renamed as Smt. R. D. Gardi Bhavnagar Stree Kelavani Mandal-a name that continues to inspire trust, dedication, and a legacy of service.

Today, the Mandal proudly administers nine educational institutions, ranging from Kindergarten to Post-Graduation, alongside a well-equipped Girls' Hostel and an active Centre for Social Welfare. With nearly 3,500 girls pursuing their education under its care, the Mandal's century-long journey stands as a beacon of women's empowerment, academic excellence, and inclusive progress-not only in Bhavnagar and Saurashtra, but far beyond. The Mandal is celebrating its centenary year, marking 100 years of excellence in academic, innovation, and service to society.

Smt. N. C. Gandhi and Smt. B. V. Gandhi Mahila Arts and Commerce College, Bhavnagar established in 1951, it is the first women's higher educational institution in the region. The college aims to provide affordable, accessible, and quality education to girls from rural, needy, and economically weaker sections of the society. For over even decades, the college has upheld academic excellence, moral values, leadership development, and personality enrichment, shaping generations of confident and socially responsible women. Our college offers a rich Library and E-Library, a fully equipped Computer Lab, Smart Classrooms with ICT-enabled teaching, and a Wi-Fi campus. Skill development is strengthened through the Finishing School, Innovation Club, Startup & Innovation Cell, Tally Certificate Course, CCC Course, and the Placement Cell. Students actively engage in NCC, NSS, cultural programs, social outreach, yoga, fitness activities, and indoor-outdoor sports, including access to a gymnasium. The campus ensures safety and quality infrastructure with CCTV surveillance, a clean environment, an auditorium, a Cyber Security Cell, and the National Task Force Centre (NTF).
